How do you calculate garage floor square footage?
Multiply interior length by interior width. A 20 × 20 ft two-car garage is 400 square feet; 24 × 24 ft is 576. Without access to measure inside, trace the garage's building footprint from satellite imagery and deduct about 1–2 ft per dimension for the roof overhang — garages are single-story rectangles, so the outline tracks the slab closely. Check the result against the garage door, which is a standard 8–9 ft single or 15–16 ft double.
Measuring a Floor You Can't See From Above
Every other surface on this site is measured by tracing the thing itself. A garage floor is the exception, and it's worth explaining exactly what the technique is rather than implying the imagery does something it can't.
Satellite imagery cannot see inside a building
It sees the roof. What makes garages measurable anyway is that they're about the simplest structures on a residential property: single story, rectangular, flat slab, no setbacks or cantilevers. The building outline you trace from above corresponds closely to the floor underneath it — closely enough to quote from, as long as you make one correction.
The correction is the overhang. From directly above you're following the eave, not the wall. A typical 6–12 inch residential overhang puts the traced footprint roughly 5–10% above the real slab. On a 20 × 22 ft garage with 12-inch overhangs, the roofline traces at about 22 × 24 ft — 528 sq ft against a 440 sq ft floor. Take 1–2 ft off each dimension, or trace to the wall line where the imagery shows it.
Then check it against the door. Garage doors are standard: 8 or 9 ft for a single, 15 or 16 ft for a double, and clearly visible from above on most properties. Measure the door, compare it to the standard, and correct the whole measurement by the same ratio. It's the best free scale reference a residential property gives you.
None of this applies to open slabs. A carport pad, shed floor, or equipment pad is directly visible from above — trace the concrete itself, exactly like a driveway, with no proxy and no adjustment.

What Garage Floor Cleaning Costs
Garage floors price above driveways per square foot and below them per job — a smaller surface at a higher rate. These are typical market ranges, not quotes.
Why the per-foot rate and the job price don't line up
Run the arithmetic on a standard two-car garage and it doesn't work as a standalone job: 400 sq ft at $0.25–$0.60 is $100–$240. That's at or below the $150 minimum most operators charge, before you've accounted for drive time, setup, or the homeowner needing to clear the floor first.
Which is why published job prices land at $150–$500 rather than $100–$240 — the minimum is doing the work at the bottom, and degreasing plus optional sealing pushes the top.
The practical conclusion: garage floors are an add-on. Measure one while you're measuring the driveway, quote them together, and the marginal job is close to pure margin because the setup is already paid for.

A garage is a rectangle with a slab in it. Measure the rectangle from above, correct for the overhang, and you have the floor.

What stops it from being offered is usually just not having a number. It's awkward to quote a surface you haven't seen, and nobody wants to guess in front of a customer. Measuring the footprint from satellite gives you a defensible figure before you ever bring it up.
Put it on the quote as a separate line the customer can accept or decline. On a job you're already set up for, most of what they accept drops to the bottom line.
